Bubba, as we called him, was a 1995 black
overo that stood 15.1 hands tall. We bred him to a very limited number of mares,
mostly solids, so his percentage of color thrown reflects this. Bubba was
negative for the lethal white gene and was a good cross for overo mares. His foals are very
well-built and inherit his unbeatable disposition. He was so well-behaved that most people never realized he
was a
stallion. In 2000, Bubba was named the Arkansas
Paint Horse Club Open Sr. and Novice Amateur Western Pleasure Champion. He
also won the 2000 High-Point Performance Stallion award and the 2000 High Point
Open (Category IV) Performance award. He has earned over 30 APHA points in various Open, Amateur & Novice Amateur classes, including a Register of Merit (ROM) in Novice Western
Pleasure. Unfortunately, Bubba sustained a traumatic kick injury in 2005
that severely affected his well-being. He never recovered from the
accident and In 2006 we made the most difficult decision ever and Bubba was
euthanized. He is truly missed.
